EWV 0314-2009, Ankle Socks

I cast off the first sock of EWV 0314-2009 on August 15th; although, I didn't actually stitch the toe or weave the end until August 16th.

And speaking of stitching the toe, I've said it once - and I'll say it again; I'd much rather cast off, then stitch than to do kitchener stitch for the toe. Cast off & stitch is just much easier and looks cleaner to me too. I'm sure there are some who can do a clean kitchener, but I'm not one of them. Here is the completed first sock on August 16th:

I found that I was tired of working on the first sock, so I started the second one before I stitched the toe of the first one. Here is the cuff progress of the second sock on August 15th.

And on August 23rd, five months from the start, the pair is done:

EWV 0216-2009, Mini Blanket

As you may know, I've been really struggling to keep up with my knitting. While blankets take considerable longer to make than most other things simply because of their size, I still should be farther along than I am with EWV 0216-2009.

I guess it's not a race though, right? Notwithstanding, I've only got about 11 inches of EWV 0216-2009 done. It's supposed to 40 inches if I remember correctly, so I'm almost 30% done:

Toe Up Sock Knitting

For about a year now, I've been curious about toe-up sock knitting. And I had even tried it at one point, but failed because I could not visualize the cast on. Why it took me so long to find this video is a mystery, but I'm glad I found it.

The presentation is a bit ... cheesy, but the information is marvelous:

Sutter Mill Throw

Lionbrands new Sutter Mill Throw is marvelous, and I would love to have one.

Unfortunately, I don't have $70 to get the yarn. Perhaps more importantly, I don't have the motivation or will to pick up my needles and finish my WIPs - let alone start something else that will likely meet the same fate.

I'm ready for 2009 to be over and done with. Will 2010 be any better?

Worthy Knitting

"Personally I think [what] ever is in my fingers at the moment is "worth" knitting, or it wouldnt be on my needles."
