EWV 0202-2009, Carnation Tee

EWV 0202-2009 (5)
Many apologies for the terrible picture. I'm still having trouble with my digital camera.

For the holiday season 2008, my bosses gave me gift cards. One card was for Ann Taylor Loft (which I've already used to get a fabulous red coat), and the other was for Joann's!

It's been a while since I bought a knitting magazine, so I decided to treat myself to a couple: KnitScene, Spring 2009 and Creative Knitting, March 2009. Off the heels of EWV 0228-2009, I originally decided to make some wristwarmers to match it; however, that idea flew out the window when I saw the Carnation Tee in KnitScene. It's a very cute top and so far, the pattern is pretty user friendly. This is my first time working top-down too!

It calls for size 9 circulars (2 lengths) and double pointed needles. But according to my gauge testing, I need size 10s. I have an interchangeable circ set, so the circulars aren't a problem. Unfortunately, I do not have size 10 DPNs though; I've never actually even seen DPNs in anything larger than size 8. It looks like I'll have to use Magic Loop, which I really don't like!

EWV 0202-2009 (9a)

Here is the progress as of February 5th. I completed the top of the back & front, and moved on to join the two sections back in the round. The pattern called for 1" of stock st once you join the front and back; however, for some strange reason, I thought I read 2". Frogging is in order. But since I only have to go back four rows, tinking should do the trick; at least after tinking, I won't have to worry about picking up loose stitches.

4 Have something to say?:

I've heard good things about that issue. I need to go get it! So far, your top is coming along great.

Thanks Del!! Yes yes - it's a good issue; off the top of my head, I think there are something like 7 or 8 more patterns in that issue that I really like! One of them is Sixteen-Point Tee; I'm really considering making that one too. :)

Worthy Knitting

"Personally I think [what] ever is in my fingers at the moment is "worth" knitting, or it wouldnt be on my needles."
