Vera's October Photo Shoot

Here she is breaking in her shiny new purple undies:

Vera longing for her afternoon walk.

Vera looking mighty spiffy in her new purple undies

She really doesn't like here new collar though:

Despite the winking, she's not happy with her new fashionable collar.

But it doesn't seem to bother her appetite, which is marvelous! She'll be all healed up in no time!

"Knitting for fun, not profit" - Mary Mooney, K2TOG

"     I'm knitting away on a pair of Harry Potter socks* when it happens. A nonknitting friend sees my work, admires it and says the "S" word. As in, "You could sell those!"

And I flinch, because I know what's coming.

"People would definitely pay for those!" she says. "I bet you could get $15 a pair for them!"

And that's the point where I explain that the yarn alone costs about $12, that the socks take me around 20 hours to make and that it's really hard to get excited about an hourly wage that rivals that earned by a prepubescent slave laborer in a country most Americans can't find on a map. Only I say it nicely, because I realize she means well; she just doesn't understand knitting economics.   "

When Knitting Becomes Obsession

As I was considering why I'm not really feeling particularly like knitting, I came up with what appeared to a good reason: I'm just having a bad year in my non-kniting life. But then I starting thinking, "Isn't that when I should be turning toward knitting, for some much need stress relief, escape?" Does this mean I'm a bad knitter?

Well, at least I haven't lost motivation to Google "knitting" every once in a while. And look what I found: (I have GOT to learn Blender so that I can come up with cool things like this!!!)

Enjoy!

Another Knitless Week

Another knitless week has passed, and I'm still not feeling very motivated. And since life is dishing out low-blow after low-blow, it doesn't look like I'll be getting back to my knitting mojo back any time soon. I managed only to cast on and put in a few rows on EWV 0919-2008, but I haven't touched it since last month:

But at least Ocelot and Vera keep me smiling. Here are some pictures from Vera's September "photo shoot":
She LOVES drinking straight from the tap! PEEKABOO!!

Ocelot takes way too many naps:
Boy - I'm exhausted

He's in deep thought:
Hmm - where can I nap today?

He's such a handsome lad:

Yes - I know I look good!(10)

Tap Water Tastes Better

I normally give my feline compatriots bottled/filtered water (hey, that's what I drink! ;) ) ... However, it appears as though Vera prefers tap!

Ocelot is unphased, as usual ;)

Worthy Knitting

"Personally I think [what] ever is in my fingers at the moment is "worth" knitting, or it wouldnt be on my needles."
